Biography and Family Record of Lorenzo Snow

Several years ago I adopted a program in which I would read a biography of each president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and after each biography read his teachings. I read most of these books on an exercise bike during early morning workouts at Gold's Gym; in some instances I had read qualifying books prior to beginning my program. I started with Spencer W. Kimball, then completed this program for Ezra Taft Benson, Howard W. Hunter, and current leader Gordon B. Hinckley. I then proceeded with Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, and Wilford Woodruff. When there is no current title regarded as a definitive biography, selecting the biography becomes interesting. Such was the case with Lorenzo Snow. In the end I chose the biography available on a CD-ROM I have, LDS Collector's Library '97. Eliza R. Snow was, of course, the sister of Lorenzo Snow. She also served a General Relief Society President and was regarded as a fine writer and poet. This book was published in 1884. (January 29, 2006)
